Using a straight edge or square is helpful in ensuring you've properly shimmed the bracket. Belt/pulley misalignment may cause premature wear and tear on belts and in some circumstances cause a belt to be thrown off track.

Really nice piece built well finish is show quality. By'34 Saver on April 27, 2019. This bracket works perfectly in a StreetRod application with the short water pump.
It tucks the alternator in snugly at the upper middle of the engine so it won't hang out of the hood sides and it holds the alternator rock solid! I opted for the solid stainless bracket. It came beautifully polished both bracket and slide arm. It required minor shimming as stated and expected, but otherwise fit perfectly. You may also have to ensure your bolt length provides proper engagement (screw in).
It would have been helpful if the belt size was specified. It may also have been helpful to provide photos or tips on assembly in the box, but the catalog has very good photos. Finish work on this product is nice. By JD on August 16, 2017. Products can't be designed for all applications, this one is no different.
I found it does not work well will with an Edelbrock air-gap intake manifold, and a 1934 Ford radiator inlet. The main bracket also required a 1/2 spacer at the intake manifold, and a 3/8 spacer off the Speedway aluminum water pump. No, I would not recommend this product.
