This is an original single OEM GM high performance cylinder head for Small Block Chevy engines. The casting number is 3890462. This casting is known as a "camel hump" or "camel back" head due to the double humps cast into the ends of the head. The camel hump heads were reserved for the higher performance Small Block Chevy engines. These particular head has factory for 1.94 inch intake and 1.50 inch exhaust valves. The casting date on this head is D 11 7 which decodes as April 11th, 1967. This is a real deal 1967 dated camel hump head. This head is in good condition as shown. This came to me out of the estate of a life long hot rodder. This head was part of a pair but the other head was a 3782461 casting so I decided to list them individually. This head appears to have been rebuilt before being put away and has not been bolted to an engine since.

It has been in storage for a long time and has surface corrosion. The head should be disaasembled, cleaned, and inspeted before use. This head looks to be completely stock with no porting or modifications. The head has been inspected for cracks and is guaranteed to be crack free.

It is complete with valves, springs, and retainers. The exhaust valve look to be new and are stainless steel(a magnet won't stick to them). The rocker studs are still the factory press in units as shown. The intake and exhaust ports are totally stock with no porting or modifications. The combustion chambers are stock with no deburring and all valves sit high in the seats.

All threads are in good condition with no helicoils or thread inserts. This is simply a very nice original high performance head that has survived the test of time. These 3890462 heads are becoming very hard to find in any condition. Don't miss this very clean OEM camel hump head.
