Chevy Small Block 327 350 Bare 3947040 Cylinder Head Pair 1.94/1.50

Date Code: C-15-8 (March 15, 1968) and C-2-8 (March 2, 1968). Please see all of the pictures below this text, there are more than 30 pics so keep scrolling down!

We took them to our local machine shop where they were megnafluxed and inspected, they checked out good with no cracks. These 040 heads are most likely truck heads, but from our research they are very similar to the 041 heads and are great for better performance over stock. Most of the head bolt holes have grooves on them from the bolt heads being torqued down over the years (Pictures). The rest of the mount holes and threads are in good condition, no stripped threads. The combustion chambers have some surface rust in them (Pictures). The press in studs are still installed but they should be changed out. The valve openings are 1.94"/1.50". The head that is dated C-2-8 has a crack on the top of the valve guide (Pictures). The mating surfaces are in fairly good condition with some light surface rust on the intake surface. We paid our machine shop guy to inspect these heads, if there were any issues that would cause problems with building or if there were any un-repairable areas, he would have told us. They will need further machining and work done to them, they should not be assembled in their current condition. There are a few issues with these heads but they will be a great canidate to get cut for 2.02/1.60 valves and only one head will need to be tapped for screw in studs.
