This is an original GM high performance Holley 4 Barrel carburetor. The numbers stamped into the choke tower are as follows. 3923289 DZ List 4053 812. The 3923289 DZ is the GM part number.

The List 4053 is the Holley part number. The 812 is the date code. The date decodes as the first week of January, 1968.

The Holley 4053 carb was used on the following applications: 1968 L78 396/375 HP engines in Camaros, Chevelles, and Novas, L72 427/425HP engines in Chevy fullsize/Impalas, and 68-69 Camaro Z/28 models with the 302/290HP engine. This is a real deal production line installed carburetor! This carburetor is in very good condition as shown. It is totally complete including all choke parts and the factory style fuel junction as shown. The original plating is very nice as shown.

The metering blocks are original and are stamped 5583 in the front and 4519 in the rear. The internals of this carb are as clean as the externals. This carb was removed from a running engine and appears to have been recently rebuilt. That said, it has been sitting on a shelf and it would be a good idea to rebuild it before installation. This is a very nice survivor carburetor.
